1 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar, packed 1 cup flour 2 large eggs, slightly beaten 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts, coarsely chopped 1/2 cup chocolate chips 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 10-inch pie crust, deep dish
In a large mixing bowl, combine both sugars and flour. Add eggs and melted butter; mix well. Add pecans, chocolate chips and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Pour filling into pie crust and bake at 325 degrees 60 to 70 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Notes: This pie freezes real well. Tiny cracks may appear on the surface of this pie while baking.
To garnish, melt semi-sweet chocolate chips (mixed with a little paraffin wax, or shortening) in the microwave, and using a knife, drizzle threads of chocolate across the surface of the pie. Sprinkle with crushed nuts.
